A Top is the person in control of a scene or a relationship dynamic. In the latter, Tops are often referred to as Doms, Dommes, Masters, Mistresses, Owners, or Grand Mighty Poobahs. (I’m kidding about the last one! Mostly…) For simplicity’s sake within these definitions, “Top” is used as an umbrella term for all of the above.
Important note: There is no such thing as a universally-accepted definition of anything in the world of kink. These definitions are mermaidmickey’s only. Feel free to add your own thoughts in the comments!
