SSC is an acronym for Safe, Sane, Consensual.
This is the original leather/S&M/kink/BDSM motto, attributed to slave david stein in 1983. The motto was an attempt to get the message out that those of us who like our sex a little (or a lot) twisted aren’t crazy mofos. There has been some backlash against this motto however, and many in the modern scene prefer RACK or PRICK. In 1995, Laura Antoniou skewered SSC in her inimitable style in Unsafe at Any Speed, or Safe, Sane, and Consensual, My Fanny.
